A great reference would be one that includes a front, back and side view, with preferably no shading.
Descriptions would normally be sufficient, but I find difficulty in creating a character based upon text. If you have no image references, please make the text description short. I do not want a wall of text about the character’s backstory! A short 2-3 sentence regarding the appearance and personality will do.
